Photorealism
The enormous appeal of seeing paintings that are painted to be exact replicas of photographs has never waned from the time Photo Realism appeared in the late 1960's. Those wonderful painters who made beautiful realistic paintings of everyday mundane things such as catsup bottles or a parked car. I myself, entered graduate school with a portfolio of photorealistic paintings of myself and my friends and recently I was again inspired by the genre and created this portfolio of watercolor paintings based on digital images of various Doofs that I made. |
