With the wonders that the digital world has to offer the artist these days, I was able to take my fascination with the Doof into the world of animation and movies. As a youngster I wanted to make movies in the worst way. I read books and studied movies (mostly monster movies, the genre of choice.) With the aid of my parent’s Super-8 home movie camera and some neighborhood friends, I tried my hand at it. I found that it was severely limiting to what I wanted to do. Sound, special effects, editing and titles were all unobtainable for me. I gave up movie making to pursue other interests. Now, with the aid of iMovie, digital cameras and Photoshop, I have made a number of short videos that are here for your enjoyment. Each video is a quick glimpse into the psyche of the Doof, charting a detailed map of Doof consciousness. To create the music I was fortunate to be able to work with progressive musician and composer, Frank Zincavage, one of the founding members of Romeo Void. Frank and I have produced a CD of seven spoken word pieces consisting of selections from my Doof poetry blended with Frank’s musical inventiveness. Each piece is a patchwork of tones, sounds and words. My thanks goes out to Frank Zincavage, music supreme, for the beats. Click on each title below to see the movie. Additional videos can be seen on my YouTube page, if you like that kind of fare. |
