Dudes (2003-2004)
This series of paintings and drawings of floating smiling faces started in late 2003 as an alternative graffiti project. Unlike the majority of graffiti artists, I did not work on site and I did not place my images in densely populated areas. Instead, I made all the images in studio and placed them in remote sites around town, where I live I hid them from view. Later, I made an installation of dudes in my studio bringing them back inside. While I was into the midst of develop, I created by accident, The Doof, and a whole project evolved from there and the dudes faded away. |
