Bandana Paintings
Process Art meets small town pride. Bandanas were a symbol of freedom and recklessness in my youth and in the small town where I grew up, you had to be kind of tough to sport one. MTZ were the initials of the town and I saw it on walls, cars and arms. I stretched bandanas on wood supports and inserted MTZ into its design. Each color sports its own unique MTZ design in order to reflect the many layers of the town. I finished each piece with multiple coats of a special medium to give it a shiny smooth surface... not unlike a car finish. |
