Assemblage
In the summer and fall of 2012 I started a series dealing with a vision of luminous projected auras of astral substances orbiting around floating Doofs. Made from various wood scraps and fallen tree branches, I cut, shaped and fitted pieces together to form rectangular formats that were then glued. These pieces were designed to hang on the wall. Surfaces were carved, gouged, sawn, sanded, drawn and collaged. Paint was brushed, poured, troweled, dripped and squeezed into cracks. Surfaces were left matte, shining, reflective, smooth and cracked. |
